Recycled Greeting Cards That Grow into Flowers
The students of our school took part in a eco -creative workshop, as a part of CLENA project where they made special recycled greeting cards from shredded cardboard. The paper was mixed with flower seeds and shaped to look like a small flower. In this way, the cards carry double value – they are a beautiful gift and, at the same time, they can be planted to grow real flowers.
These cards send a strong message about the importance of recycling, reusing materials, and caring for nature. Through this activity, the children not only developed ecological awareness but also creativity, since each card and each “little flower” was unique and special.
The motto that the young eco-creators came up with is:
“Water it, plant it, reward the bee!”
With this message, the students wanted to highlight that every small action, such as recycling or planting, can help nature, brighten our surroundings, and provide food for hardworking bees.
This activity was not only fun and educational but also symbolic – it shows how something that could have ended as waste can be transformed into new life in the form of a flower.
