PRESENTATION OF THE ERASMUS+ CLENA PROJECT AT THE ECO-SCHOOL PROGRAM COORDINATORS’ CONFERENCE

At the Eco-School Program Coordinators’ Conference for primary and secondary schools as well as universities, we presented the international Erasmus+ CLENA project: Including Children with Special Needs in Raising Awareness of Climate Change and a Sustainable Environment, which we are implementing together with project partners from Slovenia, Serbia, and Türkiye.

At the conference, we shared examples of completed activities. We placed particular emphasis on the importance of including students with intellectual disabilities, who experience nature in ways adapted to their needs through tactile and creative methods, as well as on involving experts from fields related to ecology and the environment in the learning process.

Conference participants recognized the Erasmus+ CLENA project as an example of how environmental content can be linked with creative approaches and the inclusion of all groups of young people. The project not only strengthens knowledge about nature but also develops a sense of responsibility, solidarity, and belonging. In this way, the Erasmus+ CLENA project makes an important contribution to the mission of the Eco-School program—to shape generations who will know how to live sustainably, respect nature, and find inspiration for the future within it.
