Forest Workshop for the International Day of Forests
On the occasion of the International Day of Forests, we organized a special forest workshop. Children had the opportunity to spend a day in nature, learning about different types of trees and plants, as well as the importance of forests for the lives of people and animals.
Through play and exploration, students discovered how trees clean the air, provide oxygen, and serve as a home for many animals. Workshop leaders showed the children how to recognize different types of leaves, trunks, and fruits, while the children created drawings and made their own herbarium.
The workshop aimed to inspire love for nature and responsibility for forest preservation. Children realized that every small action – such as taking care of a park or planting a tree – contributes to a healthier planet. This day left a strong impression on all participants and motivated them to actively engage in protecting nature.
This type of learning is especially valuable because it is practical and experiential – children don’t just hear about nature, they touch it, see it, smell it, and become part of it. Activities can include nature walks, building shelters, identifying trees and animals, storytelling, or even creative art inspired by the forest.
By spending time in nature, children strengthen not only their knowledge but also their emotional and social skills. Forest pedagogy helps them grow into individuals who appreciate and protect the world around them.
